What’s the worst kind of fear? What’s the most troubling for you?
My biggest fear is the destruction of the world. There are many explanations for this, but what concerns me the most is the plastic-threat that could bring an end to our world if current affairs persist.

  1. One million plastic bottles are sold every minute: 1,000,000 — This is a million, and by the time you finish reading this paragraph, these many plastic bottles will have been sold. Drink bottles are one of the most common types of plastic packaging that ends up as waste. Unfortunately, fewer than 50% of these are being recycled. Just 7% of the plastic bottles are turned into fresh bottles.
  2. Annual plastic waste produced will encircle the earth four times: The amount of plastic packaging that is thrown out every single year is adequate in length to loop the globe four times. Plastic pollution is rising at a rate of 9% per year.
  3. 50% of plastic is SINGLE-USE PLASTIC: Half of the plastic that is killing the environment is manufactured for single use. That contains mainly plastic cups, coffee cup lids, straws, and food packaging. In a throwaway culture like this, just 5% of plastic is recycled from what is made. Many of the plastics sold as “BIODEGRADABLE/COMPOSTABLE PLASTICS” are still a shame.
  4. 73% of beach litter worldwide is plastic: National Geographic states that 73 percent of the beach waste is plastic. The litter includes cigarette butt filters, bottles, bottle caps, food wrappers, shopping bags, and polystyrene containers.
  5. The average person eats 74,000 microplastics each year: A recent research in the journal Environmental Science and Technology suggests that it is possible for humans to eat between 39,000 and 52,000 microplastic particles each year. With the inclusion of figures of how many microplastic can be inhaled, this figure is more than 74,000. As if the problem of inhaling airborne particulate matter was not enough!
  6. Plastic has reached even the Arctic! : Scientists have recently discovered microplastics embedded deep in the Arctic ice.
  7. 90% of plastic polluting our oceans is carried by just 10 rivers: Just 10 rivers across Asia and Africa hold 90% of the plastic that ends up in the oceans, says the World Economic Forum. The report notes that eight of these rivers are in Asia: the Yangtze, Indus, Black, Hai He, Ganges, Pearl, Amur, and the Mekong. Even, don’t we Indians believe the Ganges River to be holy?

It's high time and we need to switch from plastic to eco-friendly products ASAP! We are doing our part by manufacturing 100% Eco-Friendly tableware like bowls & plates.

Do you still use plastic and ham our mother earth or have switched to the eco-friendly option?
